ABOUT ME

Filmmaker . Researcher and Interviewer .

My journey as a filmmaker began at a young age, I was always interested in film. My passion and somewhat obsession started when I used to wait till 9pm after the 'watershed' and watch later night sci-fi, action films and horrors on my old school Toshiba TV.

This sparked an early interest in film which led me to doing a diploma in art and design before taking my degree in filmmaking at The University of West England in Bristol. It was at university where I significantly developed my skills and understanding on the level of craft and detail that goes into making a successful film.

As I have grown older I have also grown in confidence and my people skills have significantly improved, my degree not only allowed me to develop my practical and technical skills as a filmmaker, but also allowed me to realise the direction I want to take in my career. I have skills and experience editing both sound and picture as well as being able to use equipment to record high quality sound both on set and location. To add to this, I am very much a people person and have used this to best effect on specific projects where I researched a topic/movement before writing up interview questions and interviewing the participants myself for short documentaries.

My degree also allowed me to make great links and build healthy, professional relationships with fellow creatives who I now work with regularly. The first time me and my team worked together was when producing the short documentary 'The Dug Out' in where I was the producer, researcher and interviewer for the film. Following this we made 'Quietus' together where I was production sound recordist and sound designer. We are currently working on our new production - short period drama 'Angels of Somme' which will be released very soon. I have also created projects on the side such as a short interview about the 'Save Hamilton House' movement in Stokes Croft, Bristol and 'Windrush Generations'  where I interviewed three different participants about the impact the influx of 'The Windrush Generation' has had on their lives in the UK - the full documentary will be released this summer.

As well as producing films together we are also close friends and there is a great level of respect between each member of the crew, which is why we work so well together.
